Comparison of Michelin and Gault Millau ratings: 2025 update
It's been a year since my analysis of restaurant scores and both Michelin and Gault Millau have published new editions with updated scores. The perfect oportunity for an update on my analysis! This is just a quick follow up, to get full context of what we're doing here I higly recomend reading my post on the original 2024 analysis first. The first thing I looked at was the average Gault Millau score of the three rating categories of Michelin and wether they changed a lot from last year. I would say they did not, at most there was a 0,15/20 point difference between averages. Leading me to conclude that there is a high consistancy over time regarding these averages. To confirm the obvious I've ran a one way annova, which is a statistical method to check if a categorical variable (the Michelin scores) can predict a continuous one (the Gault Millau scores).
